which is generally a good thing, and it is a pleasant scent As others stated, this is a very mild scent, which is generally a good thing, and it is a pleasant scent. I’m not sure even your wife would notice this after 10 minutes, which I like, but others may want something longer lasting. Also good, it does not leave your skin oily later, as some aftershaves do. After getting this, I realized that what I really wanted was a cooling Proraso balm in teh green menthol, scented like the Proraso shave soap which I use and enjoy very much, but I could not find that available. While this is a good aftershave lotion, I most likely will not use much of it. Nothing wrong with it, but not really what I want. Wish I could have tried it at a “sampler” cost.

typical barber shop smell and feel Though the product is described as a “After Shave Toning Lotion” it is a liquid and I had expected more of a cream consistency, which Poraso also makes. The plastic cap design needs some work as mine doesn’t screw off as easily as I would like – this isn’t something you can easily open, especially with wet fingers. The delivery aperture is highly restrictive only allowing the smallest of drops to come out at a time, and that is with a good hard shake. This product is in a glass jar which in this day and age seems strange as one would expect it to be plastic so that if one dropped it in the sink or on the floor there would be no worry that it would break. I guess being glass the expectation is that one gets that older world feeling about it. I have the same concern with my glass soap mug, as compared to my plastic one, but I use the glass one more than the plastic one for that same old world feeling it provides while shaving.

Cooling, nice mild barbershop fragrance! So I got a couple different aftershaves to compare to one another. I’m a newbie wetshaver, used an electric for 20 years, and I decided to up the anty and add a star or two to the man card. Got me a new DE Merkur razor and all the trimmings. I purchased this aftershave, the Lucky Tiger, and some old school Bay Rum by Pinaud. Lucky Tiger smells good but fades fast and doesn’t burn. The Bay Rum, as expected, is like hellfire lava on your face, but there’s something to be said for it – it’s old school and my wife loves that fragrance. But, I think my favorite is the Proraso. It’s does have some alcohol in it, but it didn’t burn at all. It was tingling, soothing, and made my face feel really cool for a good hour afterwards. I love the fragrance. It’s mild and cool smelling, barbershop feel. I’ll definitely buy this again, but I’m sure I have enough for a while. Hope this helps. The Italians know what they’re doing.
